what's wrong with youtube
the structure of creators and consumers has collapsed into itself.
turning into a celebrity used to be a hierarchy system of merit. and not even then!
it's crazy because now you have to be lucky, privileged, and still... people gather around the very few people who have found success on youtube.
and then some people could go so much farther. but they stay behind to cater to the same audience they had 5 years ago. But they don't change. they need to grow with their audience and develop and mature.
and if you don't do that, you cannot expect people to stay by your side. if you stop posting and creating content, how will people continue paying you?
it is your job to pretend to care about things you couldn't give two shits about. so how are you going to sit in front of eight-year-olds with their parent's wallets and tell them you're breaking down? how are you going to manipulate and bend and adjust the story for monetary gain? it's insane. it is a job, not your family.
the community that has been conceived from years of deceiving statements is unhealthy. There should not be a one-sided love relationship.
so many children are sitting in front of cameras and talking about their day and christmas presents and not about important things. to be honest, it's understandable.
look at the world you created for this generation. imagine growing up and not being able to yell and plead for change. you reprimand us for spending our time on our screens but when we look up and advocate for change, we are called "immature" and "not ready".
If we don't shout every day about our politics and climate, who the hell will?
